Winter Stockholm

Come and visit Stockholm in its winter dress.

Go skating while the snowflakes are slowly falling. Rent your skates and glide on an outdoor rink in the city centre, or go long-distance skating among the islands in the Stockholm archipelago. Finish the trip with a cup of hot chocolate and a tasty meal in front of a fire.

See the beautiful Christmas display of the city and find Christmas gifts to near and dear ones in cosy stores. Or why not stroll around in various Christmas markets, sip some "glögg" (Swedish mulled and spiced wine), find souvenirs as Christmas candy and handmade decorations, eat delicious cheeses and burnt almonds.

Invite your friend or darling to a lovely Christmas cabaret and enjoy song, music and laughter together. Round off the evening in a bar with a permanent temperature below the freezing point, relaxed in your included warm clothes with drinks in ice-glasses.

Or visit a Christmas smorgasbord and try typical Swedish delicacies such as Christmas ham, stockfish, Christmas root beer and snaps.

Combine your stay in Stockholm with a couple of days in the countryside, close to slalom slopes and the beauty of nature. Try bathing in a ice hole, and the run into a steaming sauna. Experience the bewitching sunset over the fields a cold winter evening, light a lantern made of snowballs when darkness falls, and put yourselves to bed in a warm cottage while you are waiting for tomorrow's skiing.
